Take2 - 01/20/2020 - Eulogize Me!
Join us for for an encore of Take 2 with Jerry and Debbie from 2019: Eulogize Me! There’s only one way out of this world, and that’s death. We’re all going to experience it someday. Which means our family, friends, loved ones – the rest of the world – will be left to remember us in their own unique way. We don’t have to worry about leaving a “legacy.” What matters most is hearing the Lord say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” But we all will want to be remembered fondly, for having done good to others, for having left the world a little better for having inhabited it. With that in mind, if you could anticipate what someone would say in your eulogy, what would it be?
Take2 - 01/18/2020 - Careful What You Pray For!
Join us for the Best of Take 2 with Jerry and Debbie as we present an encore of "Be Careful What You Pray For!: Be Careful What You Pray For! Have you ever prayed and prayed for something, only to receive what you thought was an answer to that prayer, and you kind of wish you hadn’t prayed for it? Maybe it was a job that you wanted badly, that turned out to be a disaster. Or admission to the college or university of your dreams, and you realized it wasn’t the best fit for you. There could be a million examples of this.
Take2 - 01/17/2020 - Are You Thankful For Your Job?
Human labor is a big part of man’s dignity. This goes all the way back to the Book of Genesis, where God takes Adam and puts him in the Garden of Eden to work the land and take care of it. Of course, work is also vital to the lives of all of us who have to keep a roof over our heads, who have mouths to feed, and so on. Being happy and content in your job is a tremendous gift. It can add so much to your overall quality of life. On Friday, we’ll ask you to call in and share why you’re thankful for your job, for the skills God has given you, for your physical abilities that allow you to perform your job duties, etc. Let’s end the week of live broadcasts with another impactful conversation!
Take2 - 01/16/2020 - Why Do You Listen to EWTN Radio??
If you are not a Catholic but listen to Take 2 and EWTN, why do you tune in? Gigi, our Inspired By Faith Book Club Facilitator suggested this topic out of sheer curiosity. So please, would you do us the honor by calling in and sharing exactly why you listen to the show? Maybe you tune in just to find out what Catholics are all about. Or possibly you listen because there is something being talked about that resonates with you. Whatever the reason(s), we are genuinely interested and want to know…1-833-288-3986.
Take2 - 01/15/2020 - Unspoken Witness
Unspoken Witness It’s often noted that people will be more open to the gospel based on what we do, rather than on what we say. We’re called to be open about our faith, without being showy or looking for attention. We are not to shy away from praying in public (such as before a meal at a restaurant), helping the poor, standing up for life by praying outside an abortion clinic, and lots more. It can be so uplifting and reassuring when we see others living their faith in a quiet, yet visible, way. Has that ever happened to you? Have you been going about your daily life, only to see someone make and unspoken witness to Jesus Christ? Let’s talk about this on Wednesday.
Take2 - 01/14/2020 - Throwing Away the Faith
Throwing Away the Faith We all face crises when it comes to faith and morality. The Christian life is meant to be a battle to the finish line, to “persevere to the end” as the Bible exhorts us. Sadly, some get weary from the fight, and decide that it’s easier to throw away their faith than it is to continue to struggle to live in a manner their consciences tell them they must. On Monday and Tuesday, Jerry and Debbie have dedicated two shows to this important topic. If you or someone you know has abandoned the faith in favor of a lifestyle that’s in contradiction to the faith, let’s talk about it. Maybe we can use the Holy Spirit’s inspiration and discern how we might help to bring them back home.
Take2 - 01/10/2020 - Do You Feel Trapped In Your Marriage?
To feel trapped is a horrible experience. When one feels trapped in a marriage it complicates things even more. It has been stated that people that attend Friday night “happy hour” at the bars for the most part do so because they don’t want to go home. That can be a real problem and avoiding the situation will not by itself fix things. But hope is real and available through the teachings of the Church, the Sacraments, and the programs sponsored by the Church to genuinely help, preserve, heal and protect the marriage. Let’s first identify this feeling of being stuck in the marriage and then let’s talk about the pathway to marital success the Catholic way. Call us at 1-833-288-3986.
Take2 - 01/09/2020 - Be Careful What You Pray For!
Be Careful What You Pray For! Let’s talk about it on Thursday’s show.
Take2 - 01/08/2020 - How Do Men View Women?
How Do Men View Women Today? On Tuesday, we had a very lively discussion about Pope Francis’ homily on the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, in which our Holy Father strongly emphasized the dignity of women, and how they are still too often degraded and seen solely as objects of pleasure in today’s world. Next, we want to hear what the men have to say about how you view women, their dignity, how they are to be respected, etc. Guys, let’s step up big on Wednesday and assure the world that there is still a tremendous amount of respect for women and their dignity.
Take2 - 01/07/2020 - The Dignity of Women
Pope Francis gave a stirring homily on the dignity of women on the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God. Tying it all in to the great role played in salvation history by Our Blessed Mother, he entrusted this entire year to Mary. On Tuesday, Jerry and Debbie will discuss this homily, and will invite all women to call and share what it means to you. Do you truly feel respected and honored in today’s world? How do you feel about the many abuses that are still perpetrated against women, which Pope Francis referred to as being “sacrificed on the profane altars of advertising, profiteering, and pornography?” Does reflecting on the Virgin Mary cause you to feel the profound dignity that you share with her as a woman? This should be an uplifting conversation, and we hope you will join us with your take.
Take2 - 01/06/2020 - God Explained By Youth
We are asking ten to eighteen year olds, with parents’ permission, if they can call in and share their views of God and the Faith. How does our youth see God? How do they explain God to their peers? We know that most kids are back in school after the holiday break so if parents want to call in and share what their teens have told them about God, that would be helpful as well. 1-833-288-3986.
Take2 - 01/03/2020 - What Are Your Hopes for 2020?
What Are Your Hopes for 2020? Each year as we turn the final page on a calendar and enter a new year, there’s a certain sense of anticipation, longing, hope, desire. While we can change the entire world by ourselves, we can do our small part to make it a better place for everyone. As you look around you – in your home, city, parish, state, country, or even around the world – what are your deepest hopes for 2020? Share them with Jerry and Debbie and the world on Friday’s show.

Take2 - 12/30/2019 - Millennial on the Frontlines
Millennials On the Frontlines We’re living in times when it’s more important than ever to take a strong and courageous stand for the truths of our Catholic faith. We’re also seeing incredible opposition and hatred toward the Church and her beliefs, perhaps especially among young adults. Today, we hear from millennials who are on the frontlines in the culture war, and how you face paying the price of losing friends (and even alienating family members who don’t believe) when you hold firm to your faith. It should be another impactful conversation, one which we hope will provide new encouragement to our millennial brothers and sisters.
