Customer Service Representative

JOB SUMMARY

TITLE:                 Customer Service Representative

REPORTS TO:    Viewer Services Manager

DEPARTMENT:   Viewer Services

LOCATION:        Irondale, AL

GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Viewer Services Manager, this position responds to customer inquiries and performs a variety of duties related to Customer Service in accordance with Network policies and procedures. Develops and maintains rapport with customers (via phone, letter, or e-mail) and works to give them the best possible service in both a timely and courteous manner.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receives, researches, and answers customer inquiries and requests (written or telephone) regarding order status, changes, adjustments, and cancellations.
  • Works with customers to offer alternatives to resolve problems.
  • Receives, researches and answers phone centers requests and inquiries.
  • Inputs credit cards and researches all declined credit card customers to verify card number, expiration date, etc.
  • Accesses computer system to retrieve customer information, status of orders, make changes on the customer’s order and input credit card and check customer names into the donor file.  Ensures that correct information is used for retrieving and inputting of data.
  • Receives and answers inquiries from other departments regarding Customer Service responsibilities.
  • Follows up on customer inquiries and research to assure satisfactory completion of order.
  • Completes entry of Internet orders on a daily basis.
  • Enters Spanish web orders manually.
  • Informs Viewer Services Manager or Director of Viewer Services of customer-identified damaged merchandise problems and coordinates all customer information (credit and customer file) to reflect this transaction.
  • Monitors, evaluates, and present solutions relating to potential customer service problem areas.
  • Identifies needs and makes recommendations regarding revisions to policy and procedure.
  • Remains current on changes in policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Prepares routine reports and assists the Assistant Buyer and Viewer Services Manager with special projects as needed.
  • Directs inquiries from customers not related to Religious Catalogue activities to the appropriate department.
  • Perform month-end procedures via Ability Commerce.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience in Customer Service
  • Exhibit good verbal and written communications skills.
  • Adept in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel); other computer programs as required
  • Strong data-entry skills.
  • Be a team player and have the ability to work in harmony with others.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrates and models EWTN’s values in interactions and behaviors, displaying the highest degree of integrity, confidentiality and instilling trust.
  • Provides policy guidance, interpretation and assistance in implementing all procedures and programs.
  • Collaborates with hiring managers to determine staffing needs, review job descriptions and outline success profiles.  Interviews and screens applicants and provides guidance to managers on interviewing, selection and hiring practices.
  • Interacts with managers and employees on various employment related issues to resolve.  Coaches and guides managers on employee issues to achieve positive outcomes.

  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements regarding employment practices to ensure compliance and reduce risk.  Consults with Legal as necessary.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics and makes recommendations for solutions.  Develops and maintains standard reports and special requests.
  • Supports and assists in implementing organizational change initiatives aligned with the Network’s mission.
  • May conduct new employee Orientation and/or assist with process.
  • Assists in identifying and implementing training needs.
  • Reviews and recommends process improvements to ensure effectiveness and continuous improvement.
  • Maintains immigration records and assists as needed.
  • Participates in HR team initiatives and other duties as assigned.
  • Travels to field offices as necessary (minimal).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ Human Resources experience at the Generalist/Manager level with proven ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Must be well versed in employment laws and regulations and maintain current knowledge of all changes and trends. 
  • Strong relationship building skills with the ability to inspire confidence and trust.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Media Missionaries Support Assistant

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Media Missionaries Support Assistant provides support and assistance to advance and expand the network’s base of domestic and international volunteers. Directly Reports to Volunteer Support Supervisor.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides support to the Media Missionary staff, including special projects and volunteer resource fulfillment. Also supports Marketing, as directed.
  • Ships marketing materials to inquiring parties.
  • Accurately enters and updates information in the volunteer database.
  • Receives and promptly answers in a professional and timely manner communications from all sources.  As directed, maintains strong ongoing relationships with volunteer contacts through regular communications including telephone and e-mail correspondence.
  • As directed, works with Marketing and colleagues to coordinate the necessary logistical details for volunteer events and public conferences.
  • Monitors & reports Media Missionary marketing material supplies & resources to ensure adequate inventory.

GENERAL SUMMARY: The MA Donor Care Specialist delivers excellent donor care over the telephone by taking donations, answering questions, resolving issues and taking prayer requests for our benefactors.

  • Assists callers in making credit card donations over the telephone.
  • Ensures donors are aware of various donation methods to EWTN.
  • Appropriately responds to donor telephone inquiries. 
  • Evaluates and resolves donor and donation issues, including but not limited to, making donations, making address changes, resolving duplicate accounts, removing donors from the mailing list and coding deceased benefactor accounts.
  • Appropriately decides when to escalate complex donor matters to management for resolution.
  • Participates in ongoing formation and education around excellence in donor care and philanthropy best practices.

  • Respectfully takes prayer requests by telephone and handles appropriately.

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Non-Linear Editor executes the editing of video material for a production, promotional and/or marketing piece.  This includes set up and operation of all editing equipment, video, and audio sources to provide quality broadcast programming.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates with producers on a specific project.
  • Works directly with writer/producer or from scripted pre-formatted materials to perform editorial functions resulting in satisfactory project completion.
  • Operates all equipment necessary to complete editing assigned task (Record Decks, Computer Software, Audio Mixer, Routers, etc.).
  • Compile completion and file all trouble reports related to equipment and present to appropriate parties for further directions.

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Office Assistant is the administrative assistant of the Director, Direct Response Programs and is responsible for assisting the Mission Advancement department with daily tasks to ensure a smooth and timely workflow.  Primary position responsibilities and tasks include data entry, managing files, and other general office and clerical duties.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creating and maintaining suppression lists for direct mail vendors and distributing on a timely, consistent basis.
  • Managing archives for print and digital appeals.
  • Updating the Mission Advancement online calendar and communication portal, to include working with vendors to obtain digital files.
  • Coordinating the EWTN repository to include scanning, summarizing and tagging donor testimonials.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates with the Director of Studio Operations, Supervising Producer, Crew Chief, Scheduler and Post Production Supervisor on, crew, scheduling and post production issues.
  • Works on overall program production related activities associated with proper completion of the production or series from conception to final product.
  • Contacts talent; organizes scripts.
  • Coordinates with Set Designer on set requirements and with Creative Services Department on graphic requirements.
  • Coordinates and Schedules each day’s production(s).
  • Insures transportation and housing requirements of guests have been met.
  • Secures performance releases and copyright clearances as required by that specific production.
  • Coordinates with third parties contributing content to EWTN.
  • Maintains information files on each program and provides information to Promotions, Scheduling, Traffic, Marketing and any other Departments as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

GENERAL SUMMARY: The EWTN Production Assistant is responsible for the technical setup and operation of all audio related production functions in the studio or in the field, including interviews, music, voice-overs, telephone interfaces, roll-ins, and any other audio effects that may be required. Works in other production crew positions as assigned, including Technical Director, Floor Director, Camera Operator, Tape Operator, Video Operator, Teleprompter Operator, Grip, lighting assistant, etc.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates with the Director, Producer and Management on audio requirements and setup required for both studio and remote productions.
  • Sets up and positions microphones for talent, music and/or ambient sound as the production requires.
  • Responsible for proper selection and operation of all audio related equipment.
  • Maintains proper source levels (microphones, clip players, decks, telephone interface, CD, etc.) and relational perspective as production requires.
  • Files equipment trouble reports as necessary.
  • Assists in setting up and taking down sets and production equipment in the studio and in the field.
  • Assists editors by organizing, capturing and ingesting media.
  • Assists producers by logging and labeling media, monitoring productions, completing necessary reports, etc.
  • Maintains network public relations with all guests and visitors in studio and on location.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work area.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 2 - 3 years’ experience in TV broadcast/cable production or related field and experience in live audio production.

Security Officer (day & night shifts)

JOB SUMMARY

TITLE:                  Security Officer

REPORTS TO:     Manager, Safety & Security

DEPARTMENT:   Safety & Security

GENERAL SUMMARY: The EWTN Security Officer provides campus presence and surveillance to ensure the safety and security of all employees, guests and visitors.  Patrols network grounds on a continuous basis and offers assistance and information to the general public.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs campus surveillance by vehicle or walking to ensure security and watches for situations that could result in injury or loss due to potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Screens all vehicles at the Network entrances and monitors activity at or near assigned post.  Maintains a sense of vigilance for undesirable, dangerous, or counterproductive activities or individuals.
  • Monitors camera activity, fire protection systems and other devices from a control room and dispatches calls as necessary.
  • Relays critical information to other security personnel as necessary.
  • Provides accurate and timely written or verbal information/instruction to all vendors, visitors, pilgrims, or anyone conducting business with the Network.
  • Reviews and has personal knowledge of the Safety and Security daily postings and instructions.
  • Initiates emergency 911 calls as appropriate and directs emergency vehicles to proper location on site.
  • Administers First Aid, CPR, basic emergency assistance to employees and guests as needed.
  • Completes incident and accident report forms as necessary.
  • Transports guests to and from the Birmingham airport.
  • Communicates with and assists other Network departments whenever special instructions for guests or visitors are required.  Assists with pilgrims if necessary.
  • Directs traffic for special functions and some live show events.
  • Participates in department training and drills as necessary.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the security, law enforcement or military field.
  • Possess valid Alabama State Driver’s License.
  • Possess valid State of Alabama pistol permit (semi-automatic 9mm or larger).
  • Ability to qualify with a firearm.
  • Possess up to date First Aid and CPR certification or be willing to obtain within 90 days of hire date.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA & NFPA codes and standards.
  • Possess basic computer skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality around sensitive items and security issues.

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Videographer will shoot and edit general assignment, political and feature news in a non-linear newsroom for the EWTN News Nightly (ENN) program.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Shoot and edit general assignment, political and feature news stories.
  • Professionally light reporters and guests.
  • Operate live shots.
  • Operate streaming video equipment like LiveU.
  • Assist the Production Manager with managing the freelance photographers and the field production equipment, including company vehicles.
  • Setup and operate remote productions.
  • Assist in the control room during show production (robotics, tape operator, teleprompter, floor directing, delivering scripts).
  • Drive ENN crew vehicles.
  • Help reporters in the field with technical assistance.
  • Work may extend beyond broadcast completion including occasional weekends and international and domestic travel.
  • When asked, organize field crews with reporters and call in freelancers as needed.
  • Help maintain field equipment and crew vehicles.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3-7 years of broadcast news field experience.
  • Demonstrated photography and editing skills in a multi-media newsroom.
  • Experience in Avid or comparable professional computer-based editing systems, and multiple tape formats.
  • Strong knowledge of location lighting techniques.
  • Tech savvy and informed about latest broadcast technology.

JOB SUMMARY

TITLE:                Viewer Services Representative

REPORTS TO:   Viewer Services Supervisor

DEPARTMENT:  Viewer Services

LOCATION:        Irondale, AL

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Viewer Services Representative plays an important role in delivering the message and mission of our foundress, Mother Angelica, to our EWTN Family. The Viewer Services Representative provides an attentive, caring and positive experience to our audience through phone calls, e-mail, mail, and prayer offerings.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviews and replies to all correspondence as needed.
  • Answers audience questions via various forms of communication, including telephone, internet and written correspondence. 
  • Responds to questions relative to Friary, Marketing, Production, Programming, Radio, Theology and other areas of the Network as appropriate.
  • Takes prayer requests and handles appropriately and respectfully.
  • Accepts and keys donations from donors via various methods, including but not limited to credit card and/or ACH.
  • Performs data entry of donations and gift requests into computer.
  • Routes incoming calls as needed.
  • Provides excellent service to those contacting EWTN.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of customer service experience or equivalent training and experience.
  • Practicing Catholic with demonstrated knowledge of the Catholic faith and EWTN’s mission.
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills.
  • Must possess strong computer skills in a Windows environment, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Approachable, friendly and helpful demeanor that translates to a positive experience for our EWTN Family.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment.

PREFFERED:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • High School diploma or GED
