How is Our Lady of Guadalupe celebrated?
Each year at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City, the Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe (Our Lady of Guadalupe) festival celebrates the feast day. Nine days before the feast, the faithful begin a novena, and they also gather to pray the Rosary each night leading up to December 12. The feast day itself is marked with singing, dancing, firecrackers, and feasts. Pilgrims from all different regions of Mexico come to the festival each year. On the feast day itself, 2 to 3 million pilgrims from the Americas and the world will attend the Solemn Mass.
