Broadcast TV Engineer

GENERAL SUMMARY: This position involves maintaining television transmission, audio and video equipment, including computers and automation systems. The candidate will be directly responsible for hands-on support as well as performing operational checks.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and repair transmitters (TV, Fiber, satellite, etc.), receivers, cameras, switchers, graphic systems, audio equipment, video tape systems, routers, automation/editing systems, intercoms, monitors and display systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on an assortment of production equipment.
  • Proficient in test equipment including coax/fiber, baseband and related tools for use in installation, maintenance, and repair of media systems.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Donor Care Specialist delivers excellent donor care over the telephone by taking donations, answering questions, resolving issues and taking prayer requests for our benefactors.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists callers in making credit card donations over the telephone.
  • Ensures donors are aware of various donation methods to EWTN.
  • Appropriately responds to donor telephone inquiries. 
  • Evaluates and resolves donor and donation issues, including but not limited to, making donations, making address changes, resolving duplicate accounts, removing donors from the mailing list and coding deceased benefactor accounts.
  • Appropriately decides when to escalate complex donor matters to management for resolution.
  • Participates in ongoing formation and education around excellence in donor care and philanthropy best practices.
  • Safeguards benefactor information and strictly maintains donor privacy.
  • Respectfully takes prayer requests by telephone and handles appropriately.
  • Routes incoming calls to appropriate EWTN departments as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum two years of customer service experience or equivalent training and experience.

OVERVIEW

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  Coordinates the organization and timely execution of assigned marketing support tasks and the development of ongoing relationships with individuals at exhibit companies and marketing support suppliers, affiliated and nonaffiliated media companies (i.e. distributors such as cable television operators, television and radio broadcast stations, direct-to-home satellite providers), volunteers, viewers, apostolate supporters, general public, and Church organizations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Assists in administration of Marketing CRM (Donor Direct); prepares data files for database upload; assists in training and supporting field staff on use of CRM; updates computer database of volunteers, parish and diocesan mailing lists,  distribution systems, and database extractions to generate targeted email campaigns and mailings (radio, cable, wireless, etc.) as needed.
  • Works closely with Regional Managers outside of the United States to support their ongoing marketing and operational needs.
  • Assists in development and execution of email marketing and web advertising plans, including evaluation of results and generating management reports.

  • Coordinates large multi-departmental events, such as EWTN Family Celebration, including contract execution with venues, coordination with contracted venues, budgeting, communications among EWTN departments, developing promotion plans, arrangements with vendors, preparing timelines and other activities as needed; monitors expenditures to insure adherence to budget.
  • Cross trains with other Marketing positions to be capable of assisting with other duties whenever needed. 
  • Assists with internal communications, outbound communications (telephone calls, faxes, email, letters, mail) and receives and responds to (or refers) inbound communications from affiliates, non-affiliates, viewers, volunteers, vendors and other members of the general public in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prepares and maintains regular periodic reports for department, such as affiliate summaries and others as assigned.
  • Maintains a current level of understanding of the Catholic Church and other organizations willing to assist in marketing the Network.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of ongoing developments in the communications industry and web marketing.
  • Guides social media content from our Regional Marketing Managers located in the field to the appropriate Irondale, AL social media administrator (Communications department or Media Missionaries department).

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in marketing or related field.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of social media applications and experience using social media communication channels.

GENERAL SUMMARY: The EWTN Producer-Editor coordinates creative and logistical aspects of various types of EWTN Productions, including but not limited to: Co-Productions, Series, Specials, Live Shows, Special Events, Daily Mass, etc.  In addition, he/she will edit these productions maintaining proper artistic and technical standards.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates with the Director of Studio Operations, Supervising Producer, Crew Chief, Scheduler and Post Production Supervisor on, crew, scheduling and post production issues.
  • Works on overall program production related activities associated with proper completion of the production or series from conception to final product.
  • Contacts talent; organizes scripts.
  • Coordinates with Set Designer on set requirements and with Creative Services Department on graphic requirements.
  • Coordinates and Schedules each day’s production(s).
  • Insures transportation and housing requirements of guests have been met.
  • Secures performance releases and copyright clearances as required by that specific production.
  • Coordinates with third parties contributing content to EWTN.
  • Maintains information files on each program and provides information to Promotions, Scheduling, Traffic, Marketing and any other Departments as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in broadcast/cable TV production/programming or a related visual arts field.
  • Demonstrated leadership.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • High quality writing and editing skills.
  • Proficient planning skills; setting goals, organizing, analyzing & fact gathering.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow through.
  • Superior communication skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Catholic Faith, the Magisterium, and how they relate to the programming goals of the network.
  • Strong non-linear editing skills (Adobe or Avid preferred).
  • Field Production experience, especially camera operating is desirable.

LOCATION:         Washington, D.C.

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Receptionist is responsible for receiving all guests and visitors to the Washington, D.C. bureau, coordinating all contacts and hand offs as necessary.  As the first point of contact, promotes a friendly and professional image of EWTN.  Supports the Operations Manager and office personnel with general administrative duties to ensure an efficient and smooth running office.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greets & receives visitors including vendors, clients, and talent/show guests; covers front desk at all times.
  • Serves as liaison with facility services & building management. Point of contact for safety and security requirements and procedures.
  • Receives and screens telephone calls.
  • Reviews and processes all invoices for freelance and vendors, researching and resolving issues as appropriate.
  • Assists in scheduling freelance service as necessary.
  • Issues security cards for new employees and contractors.
  • Receives/opens incoming mail/deliveries and routes accordingly.
  • Plans and schedules meetings and appointments.
  • Orders and maintains office supplies.
  • Maintenance of chapel, “green room” and break room to ensure a clean and attractive setting. 
  • Ensures proper operation of office equipment (i.e. copiers, etc.), troubleshoots, and calls for repairs as needed.
  • Assists staff with expense reports and Concur as assigned.
  • Completes projects to support the team as necessary.
  • Organizes and maintains contract files and records.
  • Takes initiative on requests and inquiries of administrative nature; makes recommendations to improve standard operating procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three to five (5) years’ of office and administrative experience.
  • Demonstrated computer skills with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), including the ability to format Word documents, build simple Excel spreadsheets, and create forms and reports.
  • Friendly and approachable demeanor with good customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of staff/management as well as outside representatives, vendors and guests.

GENERAL SUMMARY: The EWTN Safety & Security Officer provides campus presence and surveillance to ensure the safety and security of all employees, guests and visitors.  Patrols network grounds on a continuous basis and offers assistance and information to the general public.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs campus surveillance by vehicle or walking to ensure security and watches for situations that could result in injury or loss due to potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Screens all vehicles at the Network entrances and monitors activity at or near assigned post.  Maintains a sense of vigilance for undesirable, dangerous, or counterproductive activities or individuals.
  • Monitors camera activity, fire protection systems and other devices from a control room and dispatches calls as necessary.
  • Relays critical information to other security personnel as necessary.
  • Provides accurate and timely written or verbal information/instruction to all vendors, visitors, pilgrims, or anyone conducting business with the Network.
  • Reviews and has personal knowledge of the Safety and Security daily postings and instructions.
  • Initiates emergency 911 calls as appropriate and directs emergency vehicles to proper location on site.
  • Administers First Aid, CPR, basic emergency assistance to employees and guests as needed.
  • Completes incident and accident report forms as necessary.
  • Transports guests to and from the Birmingham airport.
  • Communicates with and assists other Network departments whenever special instructions for guests or visitors are required.  
  • Directs traffic for special functions and some live show events.
  • Participates in department training and drills as necessary.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Security/Law enforcement, military, EMS or related field.
  • Possess valid Alabama State Driver’s License.
  • Possess valid State of Alabama pistol permit or be able to obtain upon hire.
  • Ability to qualify with a firearm.
  • Possess up to date First Aid and CPR certification or be willing to obtain within 90 days of hire date.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA & NFPA codes and standards.
  • Possess basic computer skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality around sensitive items and security issues.
  • Attention to the needs of others; must be courteous while also being direct.
  • Possess a keen sense of observation of physical surroundings.
  • Must be able to work overtime if necessary.

SUSTAINER / MONTHLY GIVING PROGRAM MANAGER (Remote Eligible - US only)

OVERVIEW

Works closely with the Director of Direct Response to develop and implement a healthy monthly sustainer program, aka monthly giving program, and to maximize its potential for revenue and file stability.  Enhances, manages and coordinates all aspects of the monthly sustainer program.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and implement annual and multi-year plans to maximize sustainer donor growth, creating a positive donor experience for ongoing investors in the EWTN mission.
  • Align efforts in direct response channels to create a unified sustainer donor campaign, which could include direct mail, email, digital, phone, TV and radio.
  • Test new giving channels and payment options.
  • Research and identify trends in other monthly giving programs and bring new ideas to the team.
  • Optimize under-utilized opportunities in other channels and initiatives (renewal mailings, sustainer recapture, upgrading, digital targeting and re-targeting, paid social media campaigns).
  • Work with gift processing and other staff to assess and implement improvements to existing backend processes, procedures and vendors (including credit card and EFT processing).
  • Manage multiple sustainer campaigns in market from start to finish, including editing content and working with creative teams as needed.
  • Work with the direct response content developer to develop ongoing communications that demonstrate to the donor how her commitment will provide continuous and measurable impact on the mission.
