Enjoy lutefisk this week as the Journey Home travels to Norway. Sr. Anne-Lise Strøm, OP, Prioress of Our Lady of the Annunciation in Oslo, Norway shares with us her journey home and her call to the religious life. Sr. Strøm dedicated her consecrated life to the reunification of Christians and prays fervently for that. She describes the joys and challenges of the contemplative life as well as some of the outreach efforts of her community in southern Norway. Many Protestants and other well-meaning people may feel that the contemplative life is a vain withdrawal from the world. However, she notes that it prophetically points to the reality of eternal life and that our life here and now is a beginning of eternity. The simplicity and silence practiced in the religious, contemplative life draws one into intimacy with God. That is possible for all of us, if we spend even a few minutes in prayer every day.
Mr. Pearce shares with us about the wonderful experience he had as a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints, some of the hardships he endured when he left and what brought him home to the Catholic Faith.
