POPE TO CELEBRATE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF DOGMA OF THE ASSUMPTIONVatican City, 27 (NE) With a solemn Eucharist celebration, the
Church will celebrate next week the 50th anniversary of the
dogmatic definition of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin
Mary. As the Holy See Press Office informed yesterday, on
Wednesday, November 1, Solemnity of All Saints and "a day of
grace and joy for the entire Church", Pope John Paul II will
preside at a concelebrated Mass with the members of the College
of Cardinals in St. Peter's Square. The Dogma of the Assumption
of the Blessed Virgin Mary was proclaimed by Pope Pius XII on
November 1, 1950.
