CATHOLIC MUSICIANS UNITE FOR VICTIMS OF SEPT 11

(CatholicMusicNetwork.com) - NASHVILLE - The events of September 11 touched us all in many ways. “Every situation, every tragedy, every event lived through suffering is a spiritual experience for all," said the New York archbishop, Cardinal Edward Egan. "Deep down, this sorrow of ours is evidence that blood, like hope, makes not distinctions of race or nationality."

The archbishop remembers being at St. Vincent´s Hospital to receive the dead. “I went and I found myself next to a group of doctors working to save the first wounded. One of them had his father on the 104th floor of the World Trade Center. I told him to go look for him, but his answer was decisive: "No." The doctor told me: "I must stay here." That doctor ‘s father was one lost in the Twin Towers.

We all have wanted to do something for the victims and their families. So have a group of Catholic Christian musicians. Singers Katrina Rae and Ned Tonner had an idea to bring together Catholic artists to sing a song and show support for America. Together they shared the idea and desire to help people cope with the attack on America with other Catholic artists. Within 24 hours a dozen artists had responded and made a commitment of faith. Calling themselves "Catholic Artists For Relief", they met in Nashville, Tennessee and recorded a song and video to release together. The song is call "You Are Not Alone" -- the words consistently used by President Bush during the first days of the crisis. All artists agreed on the first and last rule on this project: No one would profit financially from the song except the charity fund for the victims.

The Armed Services YMCA Pentagon Survivors Fund was selected to receive the proceeds from the sale of the song. Ned and Katrina procured the studio, the producer and the video production company. They then arranged the manufacturing, promotion, distribution, and publicity. With the help of God they shared their vision and everything fell into place. Now the song and video are playing across the United States helping America heal.

Catholic Artists For Relief features recording artists Ned Tonner, Katrina Rae, Denise Underwood, Greg Magirescu, David Patrick Bryan, Jean Pomanowski, Sharon Urbano, Julie Carrick, David Taylor Wright, Gretchen Harris, James Milanesa, Jamie Dillon, and Lynn Geyer (Lynn Geyer recently won the UNITY Awards - Best Song of the Year).

The CD & video package “You Are Not Alone” is available for sale online at CatholicMusicNetwork.com and at Catholic music stores across the country. This is a gift that will not only be for yourself or a loved one, but for those who are in need! Think of it as giving a gift to Jesus, who asks us to feed the hungry, clothe the naked and visit the sick. As we do for others we do for Him.
