Question from on 10-02-2013:
Hi! It's me again--Meggie. Though my family has no history of breast cancer, I still had a couple of scares myself six years ago and then this past year. No big deal though. It was just a fatty cell. Still, it motivated me to do everything in my power to confront the horrible Big C. That meant that I had donated money, by means of buying a 5-hour energy drink. Question is, is this "cancer" organization okay to donate money to, or are they also tied in with funding abortions? Also, if it is a no-no to donate to them in this or any other way, do you know of any cancer organizations that Catholics support?
Thanks so much! God bless you and the entire staff of EWTN richly for your work.
With warmest regards,
Your friend, Meggie

Susan Komen Foundation is not a good charity. See our report: http://www.all.org/charities?page=5#Susan_G._Komen_for_the_Cure
On the other hand, the National Breast Cancer Foundation is a much better choice they they do not connect the dots between breast cancer and the birth control pill.
You cal also contact the Coalition on Breast Cancer/Abortion for recommendations. Their website is http://www.abortionbreastcancer.com/index/
