EWTN Catholic Q&A
Mormons are Christian
Question from Anon on 02-25-2013:

On 2/24/2013 Michelle responded to Kathleen that Seventh-Day Adventists are Christian, "unlike Mormons." That is not true. Mormons believe in Christianity. Please have this correction be known. Thank you.

Anon--

Mormons may consider themselves to be Christian, but they are not Christian by the standards of orthodox Christian doctrine. Their understanding of the Trinity and the divinity of Christ is flawed to such an extent that they are polytheists, not monotheists. This, in turn, makes the baptism conferred by Mormons to be an invalid baptism. Since it is a valid baptism that makes someone a Christian in his very being, an invalid baptism means that Mormons are not Christians.
