what is the church's teaching regarding the salvation of the unchurched such as the pigmyies. Can they go to heaven?

Dear Gayledgeburge,

The Church teaches that those who have no knowledge of the Catholic faith still have a conscience. While their conscience may not be perfect, they still know and murdering, raping, lying and pillaging are wrong. God will judge them on that basis.
