EWTN Catholic Q&A
a person in the bible
Question from richardlithium on 12-04-2012:

in the bible who is lilith

Answer by Fr. John Echert on 12-12-2012:

You may have in mind an alleged first wife of Adam, which is nonsense put forward by cult writings that dabbled in demonology. Here is a link to a Wikipedia article on this mythical figure, which has no reality in biblical history. The root word appears in a couple instances in the Old Testament, in a list of animals and demons, but has nothing to do with the legend of a first wife.
