| Luke 2:35 Question from John Genco on 11-20-2012: |
How do I interpret "so that the secret thoughts of many may be laid bare." ? |
| Answer by Fr. John Echert on 11-21-2012: |
Christ is the sign of contradiction, that is, everyone will be forced to make a choice for or
against Him. Against is eternal death and for is to resurrection to life. In making the
choice, hearts laid bare is that at crucifixion and ever since, the choice for or against
Christ manifests the good or evil intentions of each. This last election was case in point.
Those candidates whe stood for moral evil--abortion and homosexuality especially--and
those who knowing this voted for them have exposed their hearts, in the secrecy of the
ballot booth but still known and judged by God. Thanks John Father Echert www.ewtn.com |
