EWTN Catholic Q&A
contraceptives
Question from Dante Manreal on 10-02-2012:

Is it morally licit for a woman to take oral contraceptives to treat a menstrual problem?

Answer by Judie Brown on 10-02-2012:

Dear Dante

As long as the woman remains chaste/avoids all relations with a man during the time she is using the pill there is nothing morally wrong about her taking it. However the pill may treat a problem but it will not cure it which is why doctors should be looking at how to solve the problem instead of using the bandaid approach.
