Wearing hats
Question from Troy on 3/9/2014:

I never wear a hat in church but was wondering if it is okay to wear one while praying privately. I often like to pray outdoors and, being in Minnesota, that involves wearing a hat for a good part of the year. How about wearing a baseball cap while saying grace before a meal in a restaurant or family gathering? Thank you!

Answer by Catholic Answers on 3/10/2014:

Troy--

Men do not wear hats indoors, whether at church or in a restaurant. And no one, except those with a medical need to do so (e.g., a cancer patient), wears hats to the dinner table. But if you want to wear a hat while praying outdoors in a blizzard, you're free to do so.
