Question from Nellie on 3/5/2014:

I have a number of homosexual friends who live together as couples. One couple attends my church and receives Communion. What do you suggest I do in a situation like this?

Answer by Catholic Answers on 3/7/2014:

Nellie--

It is the pastor's prerogative to determine whether or not it is appropriate to distribute Communion in such a situation. You can share your concerns with him. If the pastor chooses not to act, I can only recommend trying not to worry over the matter. Just focus on your own reception of Communion, perhaps offering up your reception as reparation for any unworthy receptions that may be occurring.
