Memorial Sloan- Kettering Cancer Center
Question from Raymonda Czynodel on 6/23/2013:

Dear Judie,

I recently have received a solicitation in the mail from Memorail Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and would like to know if I send them a donation, it would go to fund any abortion clinics, stem cells research, or any type of research that are conforming with the Catholic Church teaching.

Also, please let me know if there are any web sites that have an updated list of organizations Catholics should not donate to.

I do really appreciate your help.

Sincerely, Raymonda

Answer by Judie Brown on 6/25/2013:

Dear Raymonda

I have not found any involvement in human embryonic stem cell research being conducted by or funded by Sloan-Kettering, but they have a very strange perspective on a couple of end of life ethics programs. If you visit www.lifetree.org and search Sloan-Kettering you will find that their involvement in programs that involve planned death for patients goes back many years.
