child baptism
Question from anon on 4/9/2013:

I have friends who just had their first child. She was born early and will be in NICU for 3 weeks, but as far as I know she is healthy. The parents believe in God and want to have their daughter baptised. I do not think they are Catholic. Do you know if they can approach a Catholic priest to baptise their little girl, or should they seek out a non-Catholic pastor?

Answer by Judie Brown on 4/12/2013:

Dear Anon

I believe in this case you have to defer the decision of the parents with regard to who it is who baptizes the baby.
