Sunday Mass obligation
Question from A.J. on 3/11/2013:

If I arrived late to Mass but was there for the consecration and received Communion, then later in the day "attended" Sunday Mass on EWTN, does that fulfill my Sunday Mass obligation?

Answer by Catholic Answers on 3/12/2013:

A.J.--

No. Televised Masses do not fulfill the Sunday obligation. If you had just reason to be late for the Mass you actually attended, then you did not commit a sin. If you were late out of negligence or carelessness and did not actually attend (in person) another Mass that day, then you probably should confess the matter at your next confession.
