In a response to a question this week, you agreed that Ed Koch was not a nice person because he was among other things "Pro- Homosexual". What is wrong with being Pro-Homosexual? The Catechism of the Catholic Church States:

2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.

Are you suggesting that being charitable to homosexuals is wrong?

Homosexuality is a sin. The Church calls us to love the sinner, but hate the sin. We treat the person who claims to be a practicing homosexual as a person, created by God who is living a sinful life. We are called to not allow him to sin in silence, but to call attention to his sin so that he will have the opportunity to mend his ways, return to God, and gain Heaven. We should never accept as normal the sinful choices of our brothers and sisters in Christ. Calling attention to the sin and to the deviant lifestyle is the most loving thing we can do for that person’s eternal soul.
