I don't have the source but someone told me that Pope Benedict XVI made the comment about it being permissible to vote for a pro-abortion candidate for proportional reason, etc. etc BEFORE he became pope. He wasn't speaking from 'the chair'. Since becoming pope I've heard he's verified the 5 non-negotiable issues: abortion, euthanasia, same-sex marriage, contraception, embryonic stem cell research. |

Linda The wisest piece of advice I have seen written on the subject of a "proportionate
reason" for voting for a pro-abortion politicians, is this from Archbishop Chaput
when he was addressing what a proportionate reason might be: It’s the kind of reason we will be able to explain, with a clean heart, to the victims
of abortion when we meet them face to face in the next life–which we most
certainly will. If we’re confident that these victims will accept our motives as
