Campus Crusade for Christ
Question from Jake on 8/16/2002:

What can you tell me about Campus Crusade for Christ? They claim to be open to all christians, but their rhetoric has been very uncomfortable for me.

Answer by Bill Bilton on 8/16/2002:

The organization was founded in 1951 and has been well-known for its anti-Catholic stance. It is a Protestant organization with beliefs that are in direct opposition to those of the Catholic Church. I believe this is why you find their rhetoric uncomfortable. If you are a Catholic college student, inquire if there is a Newman Club on campus or nearby--such a Catholic ministry to college youth would be far superior for you.
