washing of the feet fiasco
Question from marie on 4/24/2013:

Obviously this is an issue that bothers some of us, me included. Doesn't the Congregation of Divine Worship (or Congregation of whatever) have magesterial authority? And doesn't the Pope sign off on whatever the issue and isn't he obligated along with others to obey whatever has been officially magesterially authorized? If so, then wouldn't it be a sign of true humility be to admit the mistake and explain the deviation?

When the situation arose on Holy Thursday i presume the Holy Father did not think he had to explain.

That should have been the end of it.
