Year of the Priest
Question from Yolanda on 8/30/2009:

Hello,

Being the year of the priest, how do you suggest we show our priest that we appreciate everything he does for our community? I personally always include him in my prayers and I would like to show him that I really care for him. Do you suppose that it would be OK to ask him to join our family for dinner? He is from Mexico and does not have any family near by. He has mentioned that he looks forward to celebrating mass on Sunday and seems very happy on the Lord's day. I think it is because he gets to see his congregation and socialize with them so to speak.

He is a very good priest, gives very good homilies and advice. He always makes himself available to people who need his advice, for confession, etc.

Please, will you give me some suggestions as to how we can show our appreciation for his wonderful ministry. He really serves God with fidelity. For people who always have something bad to say about priest or are always ready to criticize them, there are a lot of wonderful priests out there but unfortunately the media seldom lets us know. PEOPLE, LOVE YOUR PRIESTS AND PRAY FOR THEM!!!!

Thank You and God Bless.
