Hi-what if a former priest left voluntarily yet remained in good standing with the church. For example, he left and married (was laicized) and then his wife passed-away and he longs to come back to serve as a priest-or he realized his mistake of leaving the priesthood-is it possible for him to come back-thanks-laura |

Hi Laura, It is my understanding that this does not happen any more. Since the pontificate of Pope John Paul II does not happen anymore. The very few instances of this happening [and VERY RARE were they] in a prior pontificate were just that - very rare. Blessings,
