Clown Mass
Question from Jane on 9/10/2009:

While researching Catholic things on the interent, I came across something called a Clown Mass. What on earth is this? Is it pagan or are our churches really having clowns celebrate Mass?

Answer by Colin B. Donovan, STL on 9/11/2009:

Yes, it is pagan, as the idea of the priest dressing up as clown to celerbate the Mass, as has been done, is among the most irreverent and pagan things ever done in a Catholic church. Its what happens when Catholics lose the sense of the sacred and their faith, so that they no longer understand the purpose of the Mass, which is to worship God, rather than themselves and their own clever ideas.
