House Blessing/Removing Evil From House
Question from DW on 6/22/2012:

Hello - I am a Protestant. Will a Catholic Priest bless my house for me, as I feel there is much evil in this house?

Answer by Fr. John Echert on 7/3/2012:

Many pastors are willing to do this. There are some blessing prayers in the Book of Blessings but I personally prefer to use the older ritual book which includes actual exorcism prayers for buildings. While a priest needs permission from his bishop to exorcise a person, such permission is not required to use the ritual for buildings, so long as it is not done as a public act. Many priests are not aware of the use of the older rite and some may be unwilling to us it, but that is my own preference.

God bless.

Father Echert

PS If you are inclined to ask for a priest as an agent against evil in your home, consider taking the next step and looking into the Catholic Church as a home for you...that is, consider becoming a Catholic.
