FREE WILL
Question from Yoli on 7/4/2009:

Why does God give us free will? We are sinners by nature and will often use our free will to commit sin. So why does God even bother with this?

THANKS!

Answer by Fr.Stephen F. Torraco on 7/8/2009:

Because God wanted to create us in his image, and that image in us is essentially our intellect and will. When God created us he foreknew all the evil that would result from our having free will. However, God also foreknew the victorious cross of Jesus Christ, and that made it all worthwhile.
