Can monks play video games? |

Linda-- There's nothing wrong with it in principle, but I would imagine that a monk's rule of life would prevent him from having time to do so. I would also imagine that such games would be distracting to others attempting to pray and might disturb the monk's own interior peace. For those reasons and others, I very much doubt that monks do play video games, whether or not they could. Michelle Arnold |
