Sharing during Mass
Question from Anonymous on 7/2/2012:

Is it normal for people to be given the opportunity to share personal events (birthdays, testimony, recovery from illness, etc.) during Mass? It seems odd to me.

Answer by Catholic Answers on 7/3/2012:

No. The focus of the Mass should be on the sacrifice of Christ and not on personal issues (aside from those specific prayer intentions announced during the Prayers of the Faithful). Those with news to share should be encouraged to submit an ad for the parish bulletin or an article for the parish newsletter.
