Halloween
Question from Cynthia on 10/29/2009:

There is some misunderstanding between my husband and me about Halloween. He says it is not correct to give out candies or get dressed up even though our parish has a "trunk-or-treat" every year for the children in CCD. Please explain to me whether or not this is okay.

Answer by Catholic Answers on 10/30/2009:

Cynthia--

Without knowing your husband's reasons, I cannot comment on why he feels the way he does. I can only say that there is nothing wrong with dressing up and giving out treats on Halloween. Since he is the one making an assertion, it is up to him to substantiate it.
