Eucharist
Question from Fernando on 9/3/2013:

Why am I required to go to confession before receiving the Eucharist? I thought receiving Jesus was especially important for sinners. A priest announced that to receive the Eucharist without first going to confession was a sin.

Answer by Catholic Answers on 9/7/2013:

Fernando--

You are only required to go to confession before receiving the Eucharist if you have committed mortal sin. A devout reception of the Eucharist can forgive venial sin.
