Convert participating in Eucharist
Question from Anonymous on 10/12/2009:

I am in the process of joining the Church and the process started many years ago. At what point in time and the process am I able to participate in the confession and the Eucharist?

Answer by Catholic Answers on 10/12/2009:

Anonymous--

Generally speaking, converts receive the Eucharist once they are actually received into the Church. If they were baptized non-Catholics, they ordinarily go to their first confession right before reception into the Church. (For example, those candidates being received on the Easter Vigil can go to confession during the parish's Lenten reconciliation service.)
