Marriage
Question from Cher on 7/5/2013:

I'm no longer attracted to my husband due to abuse throughout our marriage. Must I stay married to him? Is it a sin to even stay? Am I still obligated to be intimate even though I have no desire to be?

Answer by Catholic Answers on 7/12/2013:

Cher--

It is unclear to me whether you are asking if you can divorce your husband because you are no longer attracted to him, or if you can divorce him because he is an active threat to your safety. In any case, this isn't a venue in which those questions can be answered in the depth they deserve. I recommend contacting the Pastoral Solutions Institute, a Catholic counseling apostolate. God bless.
