Ordinary and Proper Mass
Question from csrios on 10/2/2009:

What is the difference between ordinary mass and proper mass

Answer by Matthew Bunson on 10/20/2009:

Please feel free to post this question in the liturgy section. The Ordinary of the Mass (Latin: Ordo Missae) is the term used to describe the texts of the Roman Rite Mass that do not change. The proper of the Mass refers to those parts of the Mass that do change; for example, the scriptural texts that change with the liturgical calendar.
