Communion
Question from anonymous on 11/3/2009:

I been attending mass .There are questions that I haven't been able to ask a priest. So I been lost and looking for the right answer. I have received communion in the form of the bread but I been living with a infection that is not active. My question is can I receive the wine, the blood of Christ?

Answer by Fr. Jay Toborowsky on 11/3/2009:

You may want to check with your doctor about whether your condition is transmitted through drinking from the same glass (or in this case, chalice). To me, that will decide whether you should receive the Precious Blood. But even if you cannot, the Sacred Host contains the whole Christ: Body, Soul, Divinity, and, yes, Blood.
