Funeral Mass
Question from chris on 10/26/2009:

Dear Dr Geragthy Can a person who leaves their body to medical science be given a Catholic Requim Mass? Essentially in order to have a Requim Mass do you need a body or ashes or can it be done over an empty coffin? Many thanks chris

Answer by Richard Geraghty on 11/1/2009:

Dear Chris,

I am pretty sure you can have a funeral mass without the body being present.

Dr. Geraghty
