Jesus rising after resurrection
Question from Debra on 4/30/2012:

Hi, I had a question about the bible writers and why so much is not written about after Jesus arose from the dead. The detail and length of stories (especially Luke/John) is great but later, it's like a few meetings and John says something to the effect of there "being much more, but I'm telling you this to help your faith". It's like they petered out. It would help more to hear more. I don't understand ..he AROSE from the dead and so much was written before...you would think, hearing about him meeting others, miracles, etc. would help the faith more. There was no mention of his Mother, who John was with...so many questions. I know we can't know why, but do you have any theories?

Answer by Richard Geraghty on 7/15/2012:

Dear Debra,

The point of reading the Gospels is to tell us how to lead our lives. The Gospels give us plenty of information on that. While it would satisfy our curiosity to know more about Christ afterward, it is not necessary. Before Christ ascended in heaven, he told then Apostles (the Church( that he would said the Holy Spirit. The Acts of the Apostles tells us what we need to know about being good Christians.
