Marriage
Question from Philip on 12/1/2012:

I am newly married, and she is not catholic. My question is, Can and should I receive communion?

Answer by Richard Geraghty on 1/6/2013:

Dear Philip,

If you have been married in the Church, there is no problem about receiving Holy Communion. If you have not been married in the Church, you do have a problem. You can go to Mass but cannot receive Holy Communion until you get your marriage straightened out. See a priest about that.

Dr. Geraghty
