organ donations
Question from jean robert on 8/22/2013:

what does the church teach about it.

Answer by Richard Geraghty on 10/20/2013:

Dear Jean,

Organ donations are permissible if they are done in the right way. The person has to be dead before the organs are taken out. In some cases the donor does not have to be dead as in the case of a person donating a kidney to another person. Since humans usually two kidneys, the operation is allowed.

Dr. Geraghty
