Church Attendance
Question from Jim Fabyan on 4/9/2012:

I was taught that a Catholic was not allowed to attend a Protestant Sunday Church Service.

Answer by Richard Geraghty on 5/29/2012:

Dear Jim,

Catholics cannot attend a Protestant Church service on Sunday as a substitute for going to Mass. They should meet their Catholic obligation. Otherwise they would be denying by their act the difference between the Catholic and the Protestant Church. They would be denying their faith by such a public act. What you were taught it still taught.

Dr. Geraghty
