Right hand or left
Question from FrankV on 10/21/2013:

Dr. Gerarghty, sometimes I am amazed at what people know and don't know. People also tend to judge what was done thousands of years ago by what is known today. What you said about using the right hand is true. However, historically, abd even today, the right hand is used to eat. Washing was not, and still is not always available. The left hand was used for other things. That is why in the Koran, it is the right hand of thief that was cut off.

As for genuflecting, generally people genulflected to royalty with the left knee and to God with the right leg.

God bless you,

FrankV

Answer by Richard Geraghty on 11/2/2013:
