Commandments #2
Question from Jan Guyette on 5/20/2009:

Jesus teachings are Love one Another, soooo, Are we not following if we exculde Gay People being married in the Church? Free Will?

I know the Bible says one man one woman in a marraige and I have been happily married for 45 years and will be married till I die. I promised God.

Answer by David Gregson on 10/29/2009:

There are different kinds of love, as should be obvious to you. We are to love everyone, but that doesn't mean we should sleep with everyone. The kind of love we are to have for everyone is to want what is good for them. It is not good for a person to sleep with someone of the same sex. Therefore, the Church is obliged by love to resist gay "marriage."

Freedom of the will is a double-edged sword. It is an ability which can be used either rightly or wrongly. It's enough to just look around to conclude that not everything that people freely choose is good or beneficial.
