Sterilization
Question from Michael Petek on 7/31/2012:

A married man has a vasectormy. Later, he sees the error of his ways, repents of his sin, confesses it, and tries to have the operation reversed. The operation to restore his fertility is unsuccessful.

In these circumstances, is it a sin for him to have sexual relations with his wife on the grounds that the sexual act is permanently contracepted, even though by an act for which he has received absolution?

Answer by Judie Brown on 8/2/2012:

Michael

There is no sin in this man having sexual relations. He has made his peace with God, done his best to correct the past and the Lord is just and loving.

Judie Brown
