Question from Anon on 2/19/2014:

Is Food for the Poor a Catholic organization?

Answer by Judie Brown on 2/21/2014:

Dear Anon

The answer is that Food for the Poor is totally acceptable and here is the report:

Food For The Poor 6401 Lyons Road Coconut Creek, FL 33073 Food For The Poor (FFP) ministers to spiritually renew impoverished people throughout Latin America and the Caribbean as well as the United States. Established in 1982 as a 501(c)(3) corporation, its goals are to improve the health, economic, social and spiritual conditions of the men, women and children it serves. Food For The Poor raises funds and provides direct relief assistance to the poor, usually by purchasing specifically requested materials and distributing them through the churches and charity organizations already operating in areas of need. There are no reports or indications that any of the “aid” provided by Food For The Poor includes “reproductive health care” items.
