Liturgical Color: Green

Today is the optional memorial of St. Jerome Emiliani. St. Jerome was ordained a priest in 1518 and dedicated his life to helping orphans and the poor. In 1928 he was made the patron saint of abandoned children and orphanages by Pope Pius XI.
