In 1999 he entered Mount St. Mary’s Seminary, completed studies and formation and was ordained a priest in 2005. Fr. Luoni served as Pastor of the Youngstown State University Newman Center, Chaplain of the Kent State University Police Department, before being named Diocesan Director of Campus Ministry in 2008. A year later he was appointed as Director of Vocations and later Director of Seminarians. Fr. Luoni also serves at St. Paul the Apostle Parish in Youngstown. Deacon Randy Smith is Associate Director of Vocations for the Diocese of Youngstown and assists in seminarian development. He also serves as Director of Religious Education at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Massilon, where he is on the parish council and involved in childrens programs and marriage prep. He served 25 years as a Youth Minister. Deacon Randy spent over two decades in the restaurant industry. He was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate in 2013.
