Christian speaker without limbs thanks God for newborn son

A Christian motivational speaker and pro-life activist born without arms or legs has announced the birth of his first son, Kiyoshi, saying he is a "dream come true."

Nick Vujicic, a young Australian man, posted a picture of himself holding his newborn son on Facebook on Feb. 22.

"Holding my Baby Boy Kiyoshi. Amazing grace and gift from God," he wrote. "Love you all so much. Thank you for your showers of prayer."

Kiyoshi James was born a healthy baby boy on Feb. 13, weighing almost nine pounds. He is the first child for Vujicic and wife Kanae, who married one year earlier on February 12, 2012.

As a young boy, Vujicic struggled physically and emotionally to cope with a rare disorder that caused him to be born without any limbs. However, he eventually embraced his condition, started a non-profit organization called Life without Limits and began giving motivational speeches.

Vujicic graduated from Griffith University at the age of 21 with degrees in accounting and financial planning. He now travels around the world speaking to young people, and he has spoken to more than 3 million people in more than 24 countries.

Vujicic promotes his work through his television program and books. He wrote his first book, Life Without Limbs, in 2010.

His numerous videos encourage people to transform their lives through an encounter with Christ, a message he frequently repeats in his two-minute daily podcast posted each day on his Facebook page.

Vujicic is a stalwart defender of the right to life and has worked with Mexican actor Eduardo Verastegui to promote the pro-life cause. The two men co-starred in the award-winning short film The Butterfly Circus.
