Receiving the Eucharist in bare feet
Question from Gloria on 10-30-2015:
Can a person receive Communion in the United States while barefoot?
Answer by Catholic Answers on 11-03-2015:
Gloria--

Church documents do not explicitly state that a person must wear shoes to receive Communion. Likely, whether or not to distribute Communion to a barefoot communicant is something that would be decided on the spot by the minister of Communion. An EMHC should give Communion, no questions asked. I would hope than an ordinary minister of Communion, such as a priest or deacon, would give Communion in the moment and then follow up later with the communicant to find out why he approached for Communion while barefoot.

In any case, ordinarily speaking, those approaching a minister of Communion for Communion should do so while wearing shoes.
