Personal Relationship between Baptizer and Baptised
Question from Donald Syriac on 3/19/2017:

Is the relationship between a person who baptizes and the person he/she baptizes change with the administration of the Sacrament. Perhaps I am mistaken, but I believe that I heard that in the administration of the Sacrament of Baptism, the act is so life giving that the Church views the act the same as giving birth. For instance just as one could not marry his/her own child, sacramental marriage could not take place between the person who baptizes and the person he/she baptizes. Is this true?

Answer by Richard Geraghty on 4/9/2017:

Dear Donald,

I do not think so.

Dr. Geraghty
