What are we supposed to do?
Question from Lisa on 6/26/2005:

On travel my family visited a Catholic Church where the priest used some sort of leavened "muffin" type bread as the Eucharist. Some people just put handfuls in their pocket after "communion". We chose not to participate. But I'm not sure if we did the right thing. Does the Church give any direction in such matters?

Thank you and God Bless all the work you do for us!

Answer by Rev. Mark J. Gantley, JCL on 6/30/2005:

The bread to be used is to be in the traditional form -- i.e., hosts. I would report this situation to the local diocesan bishop.
